run Windows 10 ?
Please note if you have upgraded a machine from Windows XP or Windows Vista to Windows 7 SPI or Windows 8.1 your machine may not be upgradeable to Windows 10. In some cases where the Windows App does not appear the BIOS may need to be updated.
Before attempting to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 you need to make sure that all your Windows Updates are up to date
How can I tell if my computer is up to date?
In Windows 7 Open Control Panel – Change from Category View (Top Right) to either Small Icons or Large Icons you will find Windows Updates at the bottom
In Windows 8 Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update
In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.
If any updates are found, click Install updates
Important updates help improve the security of Windows and your computer, and they should be installed.
Optional updates often are updated device drivers or program updates that aren’t critical to their operation. In our opinion you should install all optional drivers unless they add features You can install optional drivers if they add features (such as additional languages) or if you are having problems with an existing device or program.
In particular all Device Drivers should be upgraded before attempting upgrading any operating system as failure to do so could cause the upgrade to fail corrupting your PC
As virus and Spyware writers deliberately target these optional programmes we recommend that you add them. For more information about security updates, see Get security updates for Windows.
